Instant Challenge:   Design and Construct two Machines that will work Cooperatively to complete up to 12 tasks.  Create and present a story about cooperation, set in a Nation other than your own.  Focus:  Technical Design and Construction, Research, Experimentation, Theater Arts, Teamwork

Direct DIposit:  Design and build a piece of equipment that delivers supply Objects over a Barrier
to Targets. Consider risk vs. reward to increase your Object score. Present a team-created story about
making a decision. Focus: Engineering, Cost/Benefit Analysis, Theater Arts, Teamwork.

DI-Bot: Learn about Robotic Technology and the changes it creates. Design, create, and integrate
a device called DI-BOT. Create a scene change that enhances the presentation. Focus: Structural
Engineering, Robotic Technology, Science, Theater Arts, Teamwork.

You’re Gonna Flip!:   Present a story showing how a Character experiences a change of point of
view. Design, construct, and feature at least one Puppet as a character. Create a piece of Live Visual
Art. Focus: Storytelling, Puppet Design, Construction Design, Teamwork.

Do or DI: Create an Improvisational skit about a Threatened Thing in danger of extinction.
Focus: Improvisational Acting, Story Development, Research Skills, Teamwork.

Breaking DI News: Design, build, and test a structure made only of newsprint and glue. Reduce
your props, re-use a story, and recycle newsprint! Focus: Structural Engineering, Materials Science,
Research, Innovation and Design Process, Mathematics, Theater Arts, Teamwork. .

Weighty News: Non-competitive Rising Stars division. Build a structure of Newspaper and tape,
and make up a news story about it. What could it be? Why is it here? How strong is it?

Special Requests or Comments:

*Placement in your first choice will be attempted but cannot be guaranteed.  The appraiser coordinator needs to balance all appraisal teams in order to provide the best experience for participants.  Specific appraisal roles will be assigned by the Challenge Master on the day of training.


Training and Tournament will both be at Kennedy Middle School W160 N11836 Crusader Court,
Germantown, WI. Appraiser Training is March 6, 2010 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. The Regional Tournament is
March 27, 2010 from 8 a.m. until completion.
